Alex Burcea DDS, MSc, PhD is an international trainer and lecturer for Oral Surgery and Implantology field with over 14 years of experience. After he graduated the Faculty of Dental Medicine of Titu Maiorescu University of Bucharest he attended the residency program in oral surgery at the Carol Davila University of Bucharest and he obtained the title of oral surgery specialist. Begining with 2004 he attended specialization courses in clinics and research centers in Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and Israel.In 2005 he started the training in oral surgery at San Camillo Forlanini Hospital in Rome, Italy.In 2007 and 2008 he got his certificate of complementary studies in Oral Implantology and Periodontology at the Carol Davila University of Bucharest. He obtained the “Phd Degree” in Medical Sciences in 2011, with his study on the subject of “The efficiency of allografts used in guided bone regeneration”. Also in 2013 he obtained his master’s degree in Oral Implantology at the Titu Maiorescu University of Bucharest. His scientific activity has resulted in 3 books in the oral implantology field, more than 40 scientific articles regarding guided bone regeneration, sinus floor elevation, nasal floor elevation, bone blocks, split crest, nerve repositioning, prf and guided surgery and 3 scientifical studies with well known universities from North America and Europe. Over the years he participated in numerous national and international congresses and scientific meetings, where he gave lectures, workshops and oral presentations related to guided bone regeneration, sinus floor elevation, nasal floor elevation, bone blocks, split crest, nerve repositioning, prf and guided surgery.Today he is also a Zimmer Biomet Global instructor, Mectron opinion leader, Paltop, Adin, iRaise and Ditron trainer and opinion leader.
Simplicity and Accuracy in Oral Implantology – Using Advanced Surgical Techniques and Advanced Imaging Solutions
Dental implants, modern materials and bone augmentation techniques have led to a radical change in the way we approach edentulous cases.
The most common surgical complications arise from incomplete diagnosis, planning or from faulty surgical approaches. Even in cases where surgery and osteointegration have gone smoothly, it often happens that the position of the implants in the bone is not beneficial for prosthesis and the final results are unsatisfactory.
It is clear that a correct diagnosis and very high precision of “planning” and of the surgical procedure are absolutely necessary in order to increase considerably the success rate and to uphold the principle: “primum non nocere“.
