Member of the College of Dentists in Bucharest, Dr. Iacob Laur Alexandru has been the Medical Director of YTS Dental View clinics since 2011.
He graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at “UMF Carol Davila” in 2008, and soon began his training in the field of dental implantology. He then attended several courses, both in the country and abroad, and in 2010 he obtained the Competence in Oral Implantology within the Bucharest Military Hospital.
As a professional, beginning with 2010, he started to observe in his private practice the absence of certain imaging services and technologies, which would have helped not only the implantologists, but also the endodontists, orthodontists and surgeons, and becomes determined to further analyze this domain. During this period he also obtained the second degree specialization in radiology, being now authorized by CNCAN (National Commission for the Control of Nuclear Activities).
Observing the orientation of the Medical Market in Romania, as well as the public perception and controversy over some medical cases, he decided to continue his post-graduate studies, finalizing in 2016 Master’s Degree in Medical Law and Malpraxis at Titu Maiorescu University.
Throughout the years spent leading the YTS Dental View Medical Department, he has been constantly trying to bring the latest imaging technologies, implement new procedures and offer products and services that did not exist up to this moment in Romania, which would help both doctors and patients.
Dr. Iacob Laur Alexandru is also a lecturer, holding numerous dental imaging courses and workshops for both students and doctors in order to support their experience in this field and also trying to change certain perceptions and habits related to this medical field.
Simplicity and Accuracy in Oral Implantology – Using Advanced Surgical Techniques and Advanced Imaging Solutions
Dental implants, modern materials and bone augmentation techniques have led to a radical change in the way we approach edentulous cases.
The most common surgical complications arise from incomplete diagnosis, planning or from faulty surgical approaches. Even in cases where surgery and osteointegration have gone smoothly, it often happens that the position of the implants in the bone is not beneficial for prosthesis and the final results are unsatisfactory.
It is clear that a correct diagnosis and very high precision of “planning” and of the surgical procedure are absolutely necessary in order to increase considerably the success rate and to uphold the principle: “primum non nocere“.
In order to achieve these goals, advanced dental imaging technologies, such as CBCT or intra-oral scanning, as well as new technologies in 3D printing of surgical guides, become practically indispensable.
